Trends within the Middle East amusements industry continue to show expansion, but there are ‘hot spots’ within it, says major distribution company Warehouse of Games, located in Dubai.

Its senior sales manager Yuhanis Nawasreh, says in the newly-issued April edition of InterGame that Oman is a noticeable potential market.

“Oman is hot right now,” said Nawasreh, “there’s lots of new locations in the pipeline from several operators there and tourism is on the rise too, so we expect it to be a steady source of business for the foreseeable future.” Operators such as Al Othaim have already confirmed several new locations in the nation bordering the UAE to the southeast.

The region, as outlined elsewhere in the publication’s April issue Special, has its problems, both economic and political, but the amusement and entertainment industry tends to ‘fly under the radar’. Even long-term hotspots such as Syria retain the faith of Kassim and Nawasreh. “We still believe Syria will open up. We have potential clients and projects that we’re working on there. It’s settling down and we hope new business will be generated soon.”
