Olympic Entertainment Group continues to build its Italian video lottery terminal business.

The company, which operates VLTs and casinos throughout Europe, reported sales revenues in Italy of $5.2m for the first half of the year, while EBITDA stood at €0.2m. Operating profit reached €0.1m.

In April, the company increased its stake in The Box, a company that manages operations in Italy, to 70 per cent. The Box subsequently acquired a 100 per cent holding in VLT operator Slottery.

Following this transaction midway through the year, Olympic boasted 11 VLT locations with 377 machines across Italy. The company’s Italian division employs 57 people. 

Elsewhere, Olympic took a share of the Slovakian VLT market this year with the acquisition of local operator WINWIN Slovakia, later renamed OlyBet Slovakia. It opened its first VLT casino in Slovakia in the second quarter.
