A famous theme park overlooking Sydney Harbour in Australia, is to have a major injection of new rides.

Luna Park, established on the edge of the harbour for 85 years, is to undergo an €18.5m facelift with nine new rides to include a Big Dipper, six children’s rides, a thrill ride and a family coaster.
The Big Dipper will be the first in-line seating launch coaster in the world and is being designed by Intamin and have a top speed of 70kmh.
The New South Wales minister for jobs and tourism, Stuart Ayres, said: “An investment of this size is great news for all of Sydney and will create hundreds of jobs and boost tourism.”
The park will close late in January to carry out the work, reopening in the summer.
