German manufacturer Sunkid has launched a new Cobra thrill ride for theme parks and major indoor entertainment centres.

The ride is already operating at Conny-Land in Lipperswil, Switzerland, the largest park in the country. Now the 215-metre long and 42-metre high coaster-style installation is available across the market.

It has a drop tower, loop, two camelbacks and a scorpion tail. Now the Cobra has TüV approval. It is an advance on the original design that came from Pax in Russia. The new style ride has major changes, including a new arrangement of the seat rows - all cars are equipped with two seat rows facing one-another except for the first and last cars of the train.

Targeted improvements were also introduced in other areas of operation and maintenance.

Sunkid-Heege CEO Michael Kalsch said: “Lifetime-lubricated bearings and the optimised size of the components recue the maintenance and inspection efforts needed. In daily operation, the new bracket position monitoring of every single safety bracket, combined with the touch display in the command centre, optimises processes.”
