Cool Springz trampoline park in New Mexico, US, is filing a lawsuit against the state, copying other amusement venues in the country that have taken legal action against state governors for keeping them closed.

Cool Springz, based in Albuquerque, is one of four trampoline-based venues that will sue state governor Michelle Lujan Grisham for keeping them closed.
“We are not a transmission site for Covid,” said Tamara Portnoy, interviewed by news outlet KOB4. “Gyms can open; how are we significantly different from a gym? We provide fitness. We have trampolines, laser tag and ninja courses, and they are much the same as fitness and training as being on a treadmill or riding a bike.”
Her venue has been closed for nearly a year, taking an extreme toll on the finances of the business. “I have taken advantage of every benefit that is open to me in terms of loans and grants, but it is still not going to be enough,” said Portnoy.
In the legal action, the venues are requesting that a federal judge prevent the state from enforcing public health orders banning trampoline parks from opening.
