Construction has begun on a new UK family entertainment centre in the Lancashire town of Chorley.

The Escape Entertainment Venue will have six lanes of bowling and an 18-hole adventure golf course as anchor attractions, supplemented by arcade games, pool tables, live music and a bar and food area.
The husband and wife team behind the new venture, Ian and Lorraine Kearney, already run a successful soft play and laser tag facility, Cheeky Monkeys, in nearby Whittle-le-Woods.
In a statement to local press, Ian Kearney said: “I know that leisure time for all age groups is changing and the combination of at least three different and innovative experiences will deliver the ideal solution for families, groups of friends and even corporate team building events.
“The experience-based venue is part of a shift nationally for more innovative multi-use spaces that cater for all age ranges and, more importantly, make the likes of the town centre a place people want to return to, with the variety of activities available being the key.”
The new location will occupy space in a £15m extension (pictured) to the town’s Market Walk shopping centre. Reel Cinemas has also signed a deal to become a tenant, with a six-screen theatre planned.
Escape Entertainment Venue is slated for a December launch.
