Jukebox manufacturer Sound Leisure presented the industry with its latest innovation VenueHub at this week's EAG Expo.

Taking two years to develop fully, the VenueHub is described as a "new era in digital jukebox technology" and features 40 innovations never before seen on a jukebox.

Speaking at the show, Sound Leisure’s Chris Black told InterGame: "The show has been really busy and the best show we’ve ever had, anywhere - we’ve had lots of orders. Business has been tough for everyone over the past 12 months but we’ve really raised the bar with this new product, when it comes to what we can offer our customers."

The VenueHub is the first piece of amusement equipment InterGame has seen to feature contactless payment. The user simply holds their Visa or Mastercard payment card up to the machine and it takes payment for the songs within seconds.

Sound Leisure was in the process of teaming up with one of the largest music providers worldwide when we saw Black at the show, which will give the user over five million online tracks to choose from should the operator wish for such a range. Other features for the user include localised Top 10 lists, scrolling artist and track names, ‘drag and drop’ artist search, smart search technology, which returns results for non-perfect searches, as well as track and artist suggestions, to name just a few. For the venue, features include customisable interface elements, happy hour feature, pub quiz and bingo applications pre-installed (amusement only), easy edit venue adverts and so on.

The entire VenueHub platform has been developed to enable stand-alone applications to be quickly programmed and integrated. According to Sound Leisure, as the system continues to evolve, this flexibility will enable quick implementation of new features and deliver more diverse content through licensed partnerships.
