Alberici was exhibiting a new large-sized hopper discriminator at ENADA in Rome last week.

“The unit can manage three different coin types,” the company’s export area manager Guido Scarpetti told InterGame. “Up until now coin discriminators have been small in capacity. And the big advantage of our new product is that it can be put in place of an existing hopper. In this way the operator can cheaply and easily upgrade a machine to pay three coin values.”

He added that there had been a positive reaction from Italian operators at the Rome show. “We developed this product directly as a result of demand from our customers,” added Scarpetti. “We always respond to feedback from operators when it comes to developing new products.”

He said that the current concentration on the VLT market in Italy has had an effect on the amusement market. “Other lines have slowed down as operators continue to invest in VLTs and AWPs,” he said.
