The US city of Danville, Virginia, is adding an escape room and axe-throwing location, two of the newer site-types to adorn FECs, to its amusement offering.
Grizzly’s Axe Throwing and River City Escapes will open on Lynn Street this summer.
Grizzly’s will be an indoor venue that will be themed as a mountain lodge, complete with stone fireplace, cozy furniture, and wooden décor. Customers will be able to throw axes or hatchets at wooden targets to compete for the highest score.
A staff member will be assigned to each team to teach the rules of the game, axe-throwing techniques and safety requirements.
Customers will also be able to enjoy food and beverage service while competing against teammates along with live entertainment on selected nights.
Rooms at River City Escapes will be themed after Alice in Wonderland, the Wreck of the Old 97 – a well-known rail disaster in the US – and an asylum.
