Operator MSC Cruises has placed an order for four “ultra-luxury” cruise liners which will set it back over €2bn.

The first ship will leave Italian shipyard Fincantieri in 2023 with the other three coming into service over the following three years, one per year.

Weighing in at 64,000 gross tones each and boasting 500 cabins, the liners are sure to include various amusement and leisure attractions.

The company’s current newest ship, the MSC Seaview made her maiden voyage in June this year and features a water park and zipline. Other recent ships have included mini-golf, escape rooms, VR and lasertag among other genres.
