Bowling continues to strike a chord today, writes Dan Snook.

THERE are few more satisfying feelings in life than hearing the unmistakable clatter and crash that accompanies a perfectly executed strike in bowling. Not that I’ve ever done that, of course - any strike I’ve ever bowled has been entirely accidental, as I’m not particularly good. Bowling is, however, one of those pastimes/sports that makes me always ask: “Why don’t I do this more often? I love bowling!”

I’m not on my own, either. The International Bowling Museum stated in 2016 that bowling is played by 95 million people in more than 90 countries with approximately 70-80 of the millions in the US alone.
