More lockdowns were announced yesterday for areas of England, as the country battles the coronavirus infection.

Lockdown

Several counties of southern England, together with a number of towns and cities, will move into Tier 3, the severest lockdown. They include Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, most of Surrey and some largest conurbations such as Peterborough, Hastings, Portsmouth, Gosport and Havant.

The imposition by Health Secretary Matt Hancock, means that pubs, restaurants, FECs, arcades, casinos and other public places that house amusement and gaming equipment, will have to close.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland will move into a six-week lockdown, beginning December 26. And tougher restrictions have started for three regions of Scotland.
