The operator of Dubai Parks and Resorts, DXB Entertainments has announced an increase in Q2 visits of five per cent but a slight drop in the overall H1 visitor numbers.

While Q2 visits were up by 641,000 compared to the same quarter last year, they couldn’t boost H1 numbers more than the recorded 1.4m, a drop from 1.46 the year before.

International guests made up 40 per cent of total visitation with the resorts’ Lapita Hotel (pictured) recording an increase in occupation to 63 per cent, a rise from H1 2018’s 55 per cent.

The region’s largest integrated theme park destination opened its second on-site hotel last month. The 579-room Rove at The Park Hotel forms part of the company’s strategy to have more than 1,300 rooms at the destination by the second half of 2020.
