The first Cinépolis venue in Dubai will be at Meydan One. The multiplex will have 21 screens and an exclusive VIP lounge.
The first Cinépolis in the Gulf Cooperation Council was opened at the start of this year in Bahrain and then another opened in Oman in June. Six more are coming up in Saudi Arabia.
The Meydan One venue will have over 3,000 seats and will contain the full range of Cinépolis products, including Luxury, Premium, Macro XE, 4D E-Motion and Cinépolis Junior.
According to the Cinépolis CEO Ashish Shukla, revenues from the box offices in the MENA region reached USA$500m in 2017 and showed a further increase last year once the figures are released.
Meydan One is due to open next year and is already 50 per cent filled in terms of leasable space. It will have dedicated F&B and leisure and entertainment covering 46,000sq.m.
