Three Turkish attractions are to be closed down by the UK-based Merlin Entertainments, it was announced last week.

The venues are the Madame Tussauds, the Legoland Discovery Centre and the Sea Life aquarium, all in Istanbul. The company said that the ventures were being closed through "poor commercial performance."
Turkey has had a tough time with inflation over the past five years and that has hit the pockets of its citizens. Merlin said that it had suffered a net loss of £217m in 2023, compared with a profit of £89m in 2022.
