Responding to new technical demands for AWP specification in Germany, manufacturer Gauselmann Group has just completed a tour of the country with a Merkur Market of Opportunities exhibition of its new products.

The Gauselmann brand Merkur has come up with a range of machines to fit with the new technical guideline TR 5.0 and from September 9 up to the last stop, yesterday (September 24), the company used its branches across the country to display the product line. The TR 5.0 guideline will next year have a second version in play, V2, and this was the accent of the display.

The tour also included some extra venues, such as the Düsseldorf Merkur Spiel-Arena. The tone of the tour was reflected in the motto “Creativity and Passion” and that was evident from the reaction to the mix of machines, games packages and technical solutions on display.

“We believe that there will be a smooth transition from V1 to V2 next year,” said board director Jürgen Stühmeyer. “The most important thing is that we needed to release a balanced offer. With creativity and passion we have created great products for the successful V2 launch, which will overcome any hurdles. The V1 portfolio is still very relevant, with many attractive features such as the use of the top screen for promotional purposes.”

Wilfred Stammbusch, a machine operator from Bohmte, said: “I have an operation in both arcades and bars and equipped my sites with dV1 devices and benefited from a smooth transition. Now it is time to familiarise our players with V2. I have chosen the curved screen cabinet M-Motion Gold that is a real eye-catcher.”

In the bars and restaurants locations he has chosen the combination of two M-Boxes, fitted with the Gauselmann youth protection solution Play Safe and Easy Plus, the Merkur Twin Dispenser and the Merkur Champion entertainment device.

The highlights of the tour included the M-Box Trio Final Edition, which combines the best V1 games and the V2 innovation M-Box Max with its over-sized monitors. The M-Motion Gold also caused great interest with its five new curved optimised games.

The tour of the country also saw cash handling experts GeWeTe in concert with its Merkur associates, presenting all of its range including the new cash recycler Premium.
