The Middle East’s leisure and attractions trade council, MENALAC, says that safety is paramount when it comes to the large amounts of investment in Saudi Arabia.

The organisation is using the Saudi Entertainment and Attraction (SEA) Expo, which takes place this week (May 7-9), to highlight aspects of health, safety, sustainability and inclusivity in the region.

Silvio Liedtke, CEO at Landmark Leisure and vice president of MENALAC, said: “Saudi Arabia is currently on a remarkable growth path towards creating a vibrant entertainment hub in the MENA region and eventually beyond.

"In doing so and as responsible amusement operators, we must steer conversations and take actions to ensure that health and safety remains at the centre of everything we do now and in the future. It’s a big part of our social responsibility.”

MENALAC will be hosting a session on these subjects at the show, diving deep into best practices and a regulatory framework that will help guide the industry.

Elsewhere, it will also host a first-of-its-kind initiative, named MENALAC Explores Riyadh, going behind the scenes to understand what makes an entertainment facility unique and immersive, alongside industry networking.

As part of the event, guests will experience House of Hype, a gaming venue located at Riyadh Boulevard and ESport Gaming and Esports Centre Riyadh, exploring the latest trends and technologies found in esports.
