The government of the Northern Mariana Islands, located in the western Pacific, has invited proposals for the introduction of video lottery terminals to the US commonwealth territory.

According to the Saipan Tribune, the state is seeking a supplier to provide up to 1,000 VLTs and associated software and services for a period of 20 years.
The move follows the signing of a new video lottery bill towards the end of last year. Under this new legislation, VLTs are restricted to golf courses, hotels that have at least 100 rooms or any airport departure area that is only accessible to departing passengers.
