The largest FEC on the sea front at Blackpool – England’s biggest seaside resort – has moved into cashless operating.

Coral Island, Blackpool

Coral Island has chosen BANDAI NAMCO Amusement Europe and Embed as suppliers of its cashless system that is to be installed in the coming months.

The venue said the choice had been made because of the capabilities and support of the system and the treading history between both companies after using the stock management system for a number of years.

Jeff MacNamara, managing director, said: “The support offered by Embed over the years has always been top tier, fortified by BNAE’s hands-on UK base, ensuring that issues are dealt with in real time by people with a working knowledge of our business and set-up.”

The Smart Touch RFID readers will cover over 200 machines initially, utilising the etlcket option and the kiosk - and self-service kiosk point-of-sales.

“The benefits that the system offers customers are the main reason in deciding to install cashless within Coral Island," MacNamara continued. "It provides the ability to buy machine credits via a card system when not carrying cash, and inversely is able to take cash at the machine and pay out in tickets.

"Customers are offered flexible promotions tailored to their play and machine preference and are able to electronically store "won" tickets, which can be redeemed at a later date. For us, it’s all about adding to the customer experience.”
