It will provide games for Dubai Global Village’s new Fantasy Island attraction. Working in partnership with leading events organisation, the Mellors Group, HB Leisure will offer 16 funfair-style games and extensive coin-operated amusements in the Coney Island-themed attraction, which opened on October 5. It will run until March 1, 2014.

The new attraction covers 14,000sq.m with 30 rides and features entertainment for children and extreme rides for adults, all themed around the famous US fun resort in New York.

HB has created bespoke new buildings for the games and introduced four new products as well as providing well-tried midway-style games such as Fried Frogs, Cat Rack and Lobster Pot. At the event in Dubai, HB has employed more than 50 local staff for the five-month period, together with 12 experienced games managers and team leaders drawn from its European operations.

HB Leisure’s operations director, Eddie Lehart, said: “This is a unique event in Dubai, aimed at attracting over five million visitors and is a different concept from the Global Village. This has been planned as a major international attraction and we are delighted to be part of it.”
