Cinergy Entertainment Group, the UK-based cinema operator, has named Main Event Entertainment co-founder Neil Hupfauer as its interim president and chief operating officer.

Cinergy Entertainment Group, the UK-based cinema operator, has named Main Event Entertainment co-founder Neil Hupfauer as its interim president and chief operating officer.
Hupfauer has been a consultant since 2009. In his new role, he will assist in opening Cinergy’s newest cinema-bowling-entertainment concept, as well as executing new programmes to increase operational efficiency.
“We are pleased that Neil has officially joined the Cinergy team,” said CEO Jeffrey Benson. “Neil’s vast experience developing and operating bowling and family entertainment centres coupled with his entrepreneurial perspective will allow Cinergy to further develop and expand our operations and innovation.”
Hupfauer has an extensive business background in the bowling, restaurant and family entertainment industry spanning more than 45 years. he co-founded Main Event Entertainment, the very successful multi-venue bowling-anchored family entertainment business, in 1998. From 1998 until 2006, he served as president and COO, successfully growing the company to six locations in Texas.
Prior to co-founding Main Event, he developed and was managing general partner of Fun Fest, one of the first family entertainment centres in the US.
