What has effectively turned into an annual ‘summer trade show’ for the industry is ready to open its doors – or rather those of distributors Electrocoin and United Distributing Company – on June 5.

It is now many years since the Open Day, as it is known, first established itself as a friendly and informal get-together for the industry in London in June. After an horrendous spring in terms of weather, the two companies are hoping for some warmer conditions for the day, which begins at 10am and continues until late afternoon.

This year, 30 companies will be participating in what is in essence a mini show and jointly the companies will be keeping visitors refreshed with food and drink all day, including a champagne reception, barbecue and afternoon cream teas.

The companies taking part in the Park Avenue Open Day, apart from the two hosts, will include Aldermore, Astra Games, AstroSystems, Bell-Fruit, Blueprint  Entertainment, Cashpoint, CMS Gaming, Cummins-Allison, Elmac, Embed, E-Service, Empire Games, Fat Spanner, Fair Games, Funomatics, Future Logic, Harry Levy, Hazel Electronics, Heber, HMG Industries, Incredible Technologies, Innovative Technology, Jabro Games, JCM UK, JNC, JPM, LAI Games, Namco, Prestige Seating, Project Coin, Quixant, Reflex, RLMS, Sega Amusements, SG Gaming, Sound Leisure, Stern, Suzo Happ, Taito, UDC, Ultimate Fan and Wahlap.

Testimony to the international flavour of the exercise comes from recognition that a number of the exhibitors are not from the UK.

Electrocoin itself will exhibit the new Bar X Extreme and Vegas Strip as well as the new Stern pinball Metallica.
