Another major trade show has been cancelled. This time it is the IAAPA Expo Europe, due to be held in London from September 21-24.

The  US-based trade association took the step on Friday because of the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The exhibition was due to be held at the giant ExCeL centre in London’s Docklands, which in recent months has been turned into a huge emergency hospital for coronavirus patients.

Now the next show will be in Spain, in Barcelona, in 2021, but the organisers said that they are working with the ExCeL authorities to see if it can return to London at a future date.

In a statement, IAAPA president and CEO Hal McEvoy said: “As the world works through the unprecedented impacts of Covid-19, IAAPA's top priority continues to be the health, well-being, and safety of our global members and team. After careful review and with significant input from members, exhibitors and our team, the IAAPA board of directors decided to cancel IAAPA Expo Europe 2020. We look forward to safely connecting our members in Europe when the time is right."
