Tougher, fixed-period lockdowns are being applied locally across the US to interrupt the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

In Los Angeles, California, outdoor dining is being suspended from November 25 for at least three weeks and both Los Angeles and Orange counties are now under stay-at-home orders again. This means that all non-essential workers, including FEC staff, have to stop at home between 10pm and 6am.
Mini-golf, go-karts and batting cages have been limited to 50 per cent capacity in the two counties.
On the other coast at Rhode Island, a two-week lockdown is being applied from November 30 to December 13 in which bars, arcades, bowling, gyms and other non-essential outlets will be closed.
These are typical of the impact the virus is having across the Atlantic where as many as 30 states have been rooted in lockdown as the country nears one million infection cases.
