Nearby English cities Manchester and Liverpool and their immediate surrounding areas have been hit with a localised coronavirus lockdown that will see arcades, FECs, casinos, adult gaming centres, pubs and soft play locations shut.

Greater Manchester has been confirmed as entering Tier 3 of the UK Government’s lockdown to join Liverpool, beginning on Friday. A total of 2.8 million people in Greater Manchester will join 1.5 million in Liverpool and the same number in the surrounding county of Lancashire.

The imposed more localised restrictions, dependent upon the degree of infection, in its campaign to mitigate the impact of the virus, directing money to the affected areas to help support businesses.

This week, the Welsh Government declared the entire country a no-go area, shutting the border to the neighbouring English, closing pubs and other entertainment and hospitality venues.
