Legoland Shanghai Resort in China has been handed over to operation ahead of its grand opening in July.

Legoland Shanghai enters testing mode

Since construction began on the resort in 2021, around 300 teams from 15 countries have contributed to the 1,300-day project.

The handover ceremony featured the Legoland Shanghai Resort’s project team presenting a giant Lego brick-built key to the operations team, officially marking the transition from construction to trial operations.

Jeanette Chen, the general manager of the Legoland Shanghai Resort, said: “We are filled with enthusiasm and excitement to jointly witness this milestone moment of Legoland Shanghai Resort. Thanks to the wisdom and effort spent by many teams and construction workers.

“We look forward to every guest stepping into the resort in the future; being surrounded by surprise and creativity and embarking on a marvellous journey filled with happiness and inspiration.”

The resort will launch an internal test on May 31 with select guests invited to explore the park and help fine-tune the details ahead of its grand opening on July 5.

Legoland Shanghai will have over 75 interactive rides, attractions and shows across eight immersive lands.
