Damien Latham, until the back end of last year CEO at Majid Al Futtaim Leisure and Entertainment in Dubai, has joined Emaar in a similar role, we understand.

Briton Latham was with MAF Leisure for some years, heading up its operations in Bahrain before joining the management of the company at its UAE headquarters. MAF Leisure is the amusement and entertainment arm of the giant shopping mall developer. He has been replaced there by Cameron Mitchell, the CEO of VOX Cinemas, also part of the MAF group.

Latham takes over at Emaar in Dubai. Emaar is a very large real estate developer and owner of major locations such as the Dubai Mall and it has a number of leisure attractions, including the Aquarium at the Mall, plus other sites that cover cinemas, skating rinks and a Kidzania. Emaar also has the Sega Republic FEC which is currently being turned into a major virtual reality destination.
