Cruise line Royal Caribbean International's Explorer of the Seas is set to sail in the Mediterranean on the back of a US$110m refurbishment in the summer of 2020.

Further details of the entertainment and amusement options that will be available from May 7 next year include a FlowRider surf simulator, climbing wall, and mini-golf.

Other features for passengers will be The Perfect Storm, a duo of waterslides, Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade, a new glow-in-the-dark laser tag experience in a venue that doubles as an ice skating rink for guests

The Explorer of the Seas is the fourth ship in the cruise line’s Voyager Class to be transformed as part of its Royal Amplified fleet modernisation effort. An investment of more than $1bn, across 10 ships in four years, the programme is designed to touch every facet of the guest experience.
