The closure of Laser Quest venues across North America, reported last week, has created an opportunity for other laser tag operators to expand.

Laser Quest announced at the end of last month that it was closing down 100 tag arenas in 50 countries, with 36 of the venues in North America.

Now other operators are planning to reopen some of the closed locations to try their luck at the same game. The latest example of the trend is in Ottawa, Canada, where Dutch company LaserMaxx has taken over the former Laser Quest spot in St Laurent Boulevard.

The venue will reopen in November and be run by the former director of operations at Laser Quest, Philip Aldis. LaserMaxx confirmed that it will be opening further locations in the near future in North America and elsewhere.
