Laser tag specialist Laserforce has teamed up with VR innovator Arenaverse to bring VR laser tag to the location-based entertainment market.

The product, which both companies say will disrupt the sector, uses an untethered, zero backpack, free roam product that Laserforce feels has embraced its mission and vision as an “amazing complimentary product to Laserforce laser tag,” said Jason Wallace, operations executive of Laserforce International.

“For as many years as VR has been on the market in a commercial capacity, location owners have wanted to include VR in their product mix, but the inclusion has been stifled by poor ROI, and in some cases, a poor experience,” said Wallace.

“Arenaverse has developed a product that Laserforce believes in. Its free roam product has fast throughput, low labour costs, and is totally scalable for 2-12 players and beyond.”

Both companies will be present at this month’s Amusement Expo in New Orleans, US, and for attendees to experience the new product, appointments are required to be made as the demonstrations will only be on March 10, away from the tradeshow floor.

Those wanting to book can visit the Laserforce booth, or book at https://calendly.com/laserforcetag/arenaverse-neworleans to reserve a slot. Arenaverse offers three different game modes: Player vs Player, Team vs Team, and Team vs VR. It is even possible for a single person to play on their own.

Much like the Laserforce Gen8 laser tag system, Arenaverse provides for in-game targets and other elements to enhance gameplay.

Designed to scale up or down, Arenaverse can be used to repurpose non-performing attraction areas and requires a minimum footprint of 20ft x 30ft for four players. Arenaverse will map out a location to avoid any columns or obstacles, providing a customised arena for any venue.
