It is very rare for an Innovator Award to go to someone in the laser tag industry – in fact on only three occasions has it happened in the 36 years of the industry – but Creative Works’ Jeff Schilling has joined those ranks of distinction.

Jeff Schilling

The Laser Tag Museum presented Schilling with the Industry Innovator Award for his work on pioneering, creating and promoting immersive themed environments for the laser tag industry.

The background to the award cites Schilling as someone who has created "wow" in his projects. He formed Creative Works in 1997 and it went on to become, says the citation, "the world authority on laser tag arenas and participatory play environments."

It added: “He raised the bar for the entire industry and created memorable experiences for the players who went into one of those arenas.”

The Laser Tag Museum was opened to the general public in October, 2005 and contains the results of many years’ collecting of laser tag memorabilia. It is located in Louisville, Kentucky.
