Virtual reality manufacturer VRstudios has appointed Yoni Koenig to the role of vice president of marketing, succeeding one of the company’s founders, T.Ron Davis.

Koenig brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, digital production and location-based entertainment businesses to the company.
Some of his work includes creating high-end turnkey infrastructures for VR entertainment as head of marketing for Exit Reality. He also co-designed rides for Disney Imagineering with Gigswatt Studios, a company he co-founded that is also credited with developing 13 titles for Xbox and PlayStation.
As chief scientist at StudioGPU, Koenig co-authored several patents for graphics processing units, focusing on placing the power of real-time graphics at the artist's fingertips.
He said: “I couldn't have imagined a better home for me than with VRstudios, sharing a passion to connect the business needs of operators with the desire of guests to have amazing out-of-home experiences. My goal is to show that VR is a business reality ready to offer a compelling solution to the pressures being placed on FECs and retail by online gaming. The VRstudios team has all the talent, enthusiasm and real industry chops to answer that need. I am keen to take all these ingredients and cook up something fierce.”
