UK-based Rainbow Productions, well-known for its character outfits, has received the King’s Award for Enterprise.

The bespoke manufacturer of character costumes and organiser of character events has been honoured after a 40-year history of making and creating mascots.

The award is personally approved by the King and recognises business excellence across the UK. Rainbow won its award for its international trade success, in particular its outstanding short-term growth in overseas sales.

It has added 13 new markets since 2022 and its overseas sales have grown by 106 per cent. It now operates in 65 countries.

Mascot successes include major international football tournaments and teams such as Juventus and Barcelona and major brands such as Kelloggs and mascot appearances at important film premiers include Sonic the Hedgehog, Paddington and characters at big attractions include Peppa Pig World, Alton Towers and Legoland.

Rainbow Productions’ managing director, Simon Foulkes, comments: “A Rainbow mascot is widely regarded as the gold standard within the industry. The company prides itself on putting innovation, quality and sustainability at the heart of each and every project.”
