Mediamation’s MX4D theatre came into its own for the release of the blockbuster film Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.

Jurassic amusement from Mediamation

The system utilises in-theatre effects including rain, scent, motion and vibration to enhance the audience’s amusement, with the company reporting full theatres during the opening of the film.

“We approach our programming with the highest accuracy and subtlety,” said Kirk Miller, director of 4D programming. “Our team spends days on various aspects of programming so that it becomes completely immersive and uniquely our brand.” Miller’s team painstakingly pairs up the island’s torrential downpour with the light mist systems in the theatre’s ceiling. They activate in-seat bass speakers to match up with the ground-shaking stomps of the Tyrannosaurs Rex. Pinpoint accuracy including timing are key to the unique experience.

Mediamation has nearly 300 of its theatres showing the film during the summer in cinemas all over the world including China, South America, Europe and the US.
