Touchtunes managing director Pascal De Mul reported increased sales of its most technologically advanced jukebox, Angelina, in continental Europe.

Jukeboxes advancing on the continent

"We are looking at countries like France, Germany, Spain and Italy. But the UK is still our main market in Europe," said De Mul.

He said that every market is different in Europe. In some markets, there is a strong operator trade in other markets there is much less of that culture, it depends on what status gaming it has. But throughout, he said, there is an appetite for a more modern jukebox.

The latest element to be added to the Touchtunes’ machines is contactless payment. “So now, not only can people use their phones to play music on our machines with our app, they can now pay with their phones as well,” he said.

The updated non-pay version of Angelina, for operations that just want its patrons to have music to listen to without reimbursement, was showcased at EAG International show in London, UK.
