Chris Black, managing director of UK-based jukebox specialist Sound Leisure, is planning a 260-mile cycle ride from Yeovil to Huddersfield in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Huddersfield Town's Youth Academy.

This is not the first time Black has taken to the saddle for charity. Previously, he cycled 125 miles down the Leeds to Liverpool Canal for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

"I was talked into this by my nephew Joe who has signed for Huddersfield Town football club and plays for the under 18s," said Black. "He told me about the work the club did for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and roped me and his dad in - now the reality of riding 260-plus miles uphill from Somerset to Yorkshire is really kicking in."

Black has already ordered his new racer bike and has set up a Just Giving page in order to try and raise £1,000 towards the appeal.

"I know times are hard but anything you give will be greatly appreciated. I can assure everyone this is going to be a hard challenge and I would not be going through with it if I didn't believe that the cause was a good one." The ride takes place in May and if anyone fancies sponsoring him they can log onto his Just Giving account.
