One of the best-known names in UK AWP manufacturing has been sold, according to information currently circulating the British market. JPM has apparently changed hands, quietly, into new ownership, although the identity of the buyer has yet to be made known.

Based in Cardiff, JPM was considerably smaller than in its heyday when it was at one time by far the largest supplier of AWPs to the UK market. It was also a considerable exporter and up to its sale the company still had most of its income from the sale of machines to the export market, notably the Czech Republic.

We understand that the new owners of the company have immediately put into hand a succession of trials with new products both for the UK and overseas markets. One of the first targets will be Spain and it is anticipated that the company’s new products - and presumably its new ownership - will be made clear at the FER show in Madrid next month.
