JCM Global showcased its Vega bill validator at SAGSE Buenos Aires last week as a cost-effective option for the amusement and AWP market.

The Vega is intended to be a “global standard” in AWP and payment terminals, with a lockable, removable cash box and an optional bill recycler. The company also exhibited its iVIZION bill validator.

“There are different levels of development in each of the South American countries,” Daniel Ferrari, sales manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, told InterGaming. “Overall, it’s one of the markets interested in improving its technology and the professionalisation of the way of doing things.”

There are, however, several jurisdictions where the lack of regulation means from a legal standpoint there is no clear market– something JCM, as a company licensed in the US, must be wary of.

“Regulation is in the mind of a lot of operators and manufacturers but there needs to be political commitment to encourage further investment,” Ferrari explained. “Little by little we are seeing progress but it will still be a few more years yet.”
