The present situation within the Italian amusement market is becoming increasingly frustrating, Mauro Zaccaria of Tecnoplay has claimed.
Tecnoplay conducts the majority of its business in Italy, providing equipment to both gaming and amusement operators. Yet, while gaming flourishes, the amusement sector is in rapid decline.
“For sure gaming is performing a lot better than amusement,” Zaccaria told InterGame. “Gaming is losing less than any other branch of the Italian economy. Amusement is not recovering at all - prehistoric legislation is keeping the Italian market far away from the new games produced worldwide. The situation within the Italian amusement market is becoming dramatic.”
In order to grow and survive, he said, Italy’s amusement operators must be allowed to operate redemption games with monitors, rather than the purely mechanical games they are permitted to install at present.
