The now annual seminar on the state of the amusement industry in Italy will take place during the EAG show this year.

Italian media leader Gioco News will again organise the discussion of Italy’s pressing problems with official attitudes towards the amusement industry in what has become an annual event.

The plan is to run the panel discussion again this year but, like the show itself, in digital format. Gioco News’ Alessio Crisantemi told InterGame that the debate is more critical than ever this year, following the start of a reform in the sector by the Italian Government.

“The changes will be debated in the coming months and hopefully, will solve many of our problems and perhaps open up new opportunities.” This, he said, was against the background of the customs duty bombshell within the EU’s amusement games industry caused by the EU-US rift. The spat between the governments has brought about a 20 per cent tariff on the import of US games in certain sectors – including the amusement games business.

Crisantemi told us that he had received the go-ahead from the organisers of the show and was pulling together a panel to talk about the subject, including Euromat President Jason Frost (pictured), with David Snook of InterGame once again the moderator.

More details, with the date and time of the event (the show is January 27-28), will follow shortly.
