Italian trade association SAPAR has called on the country's government to restore "security and balance" for the legitimate gaming sector in the country.

Italy’s FECs and arcades are being unfairly treated, says the association, by local authorities using the excuse of health protection to keep them closed.
All this does, claims the association, is promote illegal gaming through the internet. The association said: “The inequality in the reopening of legal gaming after Covid-19, again demonstrates the legislative chaos in which companies are forced to operate.”
It laments the absence of national legislation, delegating responsibility to the regions which in turn penalise the gambling sector in particular.
