Installations in the Middle East and eastern Europe have dominated the end of 2009 and beginning of this year for Argentina-based Sacoa, the debit card system supplier.

The company opened in Amman in January, with a major installation in a new family entertainment centre inside the Safie Mall in the Jordanian capital. The coverage in that location was for 200 games and rides.

In December, the company opened two centres in Turkey. The Sega Funlab, a new family centre in the Forum shopping mall in Istanbu, includes a theatre, video games, redemption and simulators and the installation will be extended around now to 3,000sq.m of fun and games. The other Turkish success for the company was at Izmir, with an indoor amusement park containing 100 games and rides.

Across the Black Sea, Sacoa installed its system in a location at Varna, Bulgaria, for the Christmas period. The location was a high-tech FEC.

Coming up will be two new installations in pizza stores in the US at Davenport, Iowa, and at Draper, Utah.

The company’s new Touch ‘n’ Go game within a game which was a strong offering at the IAAPA show in Las Vegas in November, is expected to be fully operational about now, said company director Pol Mochkovsky. "We had a very good response at Las Vegas. Operators liked the add-on value and flexibility in terms of language and advertising possibilities."

He added that a new installation in Stockholm, Sweden, went operational in December and the company was opening four new systems in centres in Brazil and one in Uruguay in February, 2010, followed by one in Chile.
