The US coin machine industry in the path of hurricane Irma were closing factories, workshops and offices yesterday as one of the most powerful hurricanes in history bears down on the US south-west.

Benchmark Games closed at noon yesterday in Florida and was prepared for at least a three-day break before the factory will be able to reopen.

Bob’s Space Racers in Daytona was also closing down and most of the staff relocating to at least the fringes of the hurricane’s path. Operator Player One in Orlando and Betson in the same city were also planning to close at some stage.
