The state government has cleared these two new tourism projects to be carried out on a public private partnership basis and the tendering process will start soon.

The estimated cost for the Aji dam aquarium and amusement park is Rs40.56 crore (approximately $8m) and for the Nyari dam it is Rs170.82 crore, according to online reports. Both projects will focus on water sports and would include an underwater observatory, water rides and an amusement park, 4D theatre, gaming zone, retail shops and more. Dynamic motion theatres, a video game arcade and bowling alley with at least six lanes are some of the proposed features.

The Rajkot Municipal Corporation and Rajkot Urban Development Authority have already reserved 5.13 hectares of land for the project at the Aji dam. After selection of the PPP agency and handling over of land, the agency has to complete the first phase of the project in 18 months.
