Cashless technology company Intercard will be giving its Impulse Tap reader its European debut at IAAPA Expo Europe later this month.

The trade show, which is held from September 26-28 in Vienna, Austria, will play host to the company’s latest innovation, which is a tappable version of its popular card reader.
The Impulse Tap is able to accept credit, debit and play cards and Alberto Borrero (pictured), senior vice president of international sales at the company, said: “Operators tell us that credit card use is up substantially at FECs and BECs and I believe the trend is here to stay. Operators find that credit card users spend more in their centres.
“The ability to use credit cards right at the reader will revolutionise our industry.”
The reader is designed to capture the business of impulse players, who want to play a few games without buying a game card.
Borrero added: “In testing at arcades, the Impulse has increased overall game revenue by as much as 20 per cent by capturing the business of impulse players.
“They have traditionally used cash but that’s becoming rarer as FECs increasingly move from coin-op to cashless technology.”
