Amusement industry consultants, Imagine Leisure, will host two educational sessions at the Euro Attractions Show in RAI Amsterdam, the Netherlands (September 25-27) under the title “Local Challenges.”

The first session on September 25 at 2:30pm is called “No more room for growth? Over-tourism and its lessons for the wider attractions industry.” It will focus on ways to influence customer behaviour in a certain location or time. Moderated by Imagine Leisure’s co-owner Carolien Nederlof and general manager Marcel Westerdiep, the session includes speakers from several leading attractions in the region.

These will include Joris van Dijk, managing director of Madurodam; Axel Rüger, director of the Van Gogh Museum; Hans van Driem, managing partner of International Destination Strategies; Goof Lukken, senior lecturer of attractions and theme park management at NHTV Breda; Maarten van der Meer, director of Zaanse Schans; Joost van Berkel, managing director of This is Holland and Stephen Hodes, co-owner of LAgroup.

In the second session, “CEO Talk – Going Dutch?” at 5pm on Tuesday, the focus is on the impact the Netherlands has had on the leisure industry as a whole. The small country has had a remarkable effect from world-class facilities to highly regarded suppliers. Four Dutch CEOs talk about their passion and drive in the industry and speak about inspirations and lessons learned.

The speakers of this session will be Reinoud van Assendelft de Coningh, owner of Nijmegen Area; Caroline Kortooms, managing director of Toverland; Huub Lazarom, managing director of Corpus; Dirk Lubbers, CEO of Tourism Group International and Marcel Westerdiep, general manager of Escher in het Paleis.
