UK tenpin bowling operator Hollywood Bowl remains upbeat as it reveals its year-end results.

The company with 64 venues, including its Puttstars mini golf brand, had revenues of £79.5m for the year to end September, down 38.8 per cent from the previous year’s £129.9m. Operating profit after tax was £1.4m, down 93.8 per cent from the £22.3m of the previous year.
Nevertheless, the company is optimistic. Its CEO Stephen Burns said: “Our ability to deliver this performance while having the majority of the estate closed for almost half the year, demonstrates the strength of our business.
"Some of the changes we have made as a result of Covid-19 have enhanced our service proposition and we are encouraged by customer response to our reopenings in August and again in December.”
He said the new Puttstars concept and its performance had been pleasing.
The company is planning several refurbishments of existing locations during 2021 and a string of new centres opening between 2021 and 2024.
