An 8.8 per cent increase in total revenues for the year ended December 30, 2017, is reported by Hollywood Bowl, the UK’s largest tenpin bowling operator.

Revenues reached £114m compared with £104m and EBITDA is up from £29.4m to £33.4m. There is an operating profit of £22.2m compared with £14.4m, up 54.4 per cent.

The company’s highlights were six major refurbishments completed and four Bowlplex rebrands completed, plus three new centres opened with one fresh one already opened for the current financial year.

It said that 13 million games had been bowled in the year and the spend per game increased 0.8 per cent to £8.70. CEO Stephen Burns said that in its first full financial year the company had performed strongly. "Looking forward, our strong balance sheet and cash generative business model allows us to capitalise on our healthy pipeline of new sites and we remain committed to growing our high quality portfolio through selective new openings and acquisitions.

Hollywood Bowl has 58 centres across the UK under its own name or AMF or Bowlplex.
