Central to the scheme is a 21-lane tenpin bowling venue clinched in a deal with Hollywood Bowl, its second location in Northern Ireland. The venue is scheduled for completion early next year.

The Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon County Council granted full permission last week, initiating a £9m transformation of the western part of the complex and setting up a food and entertainment quarter covering a total of 60,000sq.ft.

Lotus Property is behind the overall scheme and its manging director Alastair Coulson said: “Welcoming Hollywood Bowl to The Boulevard triggers a multi-million pound redevelopment in what is already a successful destination for families.

“The arrival of Hollywood Bowl and the tranche of new F&B tenants that we expect to follow will support The Boulevard’s transition into a compelling night-and-day option.”

Hollywood Bowl’s other Northern Ireland venue is in Belfast. It now has 75 venues across the UK, recently opening in Inverness, Preston, Swindon, Westwood Cross, Colchester and Uxbridge, with one at Reading set to open next month.
