Jack Guanieri, head of Elaut USA, subsidiary of Belgian manufacturer Elaut, is moving into the pinball business.
The Verstraeten family, majority owner of Elaut USA, reports that its American offshoot will "remain focused on revenue sharing operations in its many amusement and theme park locations as well as sales and assembly of Elaut cranes and redemption games.
"However, we do own the licence for the Wizard of Oz name in pinball and it is in the natural course of things that once a pinball game is born and being produced, we will work with Jack Guanieri, CEO of Elaut USA, to help in its distribution," said Helga Verstraeten.
Elaut USA is not directly involved in the manufacture of the pinball machine, but Guarnieri, who has been a pinball fanatic all his life and who has many connections in the pinball field, is developing the game. He created a group of enthusiastic people to help develop the new pinball concept.
Guarnieri will continue to head the American business for Elaut, but at the same time head up the development, production and distribution of a new pinball product.
"We wish Jack Guarnieri all the best with his new project and look forward to seeing his first prototypes," said Verstraeten.
